NTLM authentication

HTTrack does not support NTLM authentication. However, check this information below for possible solutions.

NTLM authentication is typically only used on internal networks (e.g. intranets). You may need the following information if you are trying to mirror a local server, but generally you would not need to use this authentication when going out to external websites.

NTLM (NT Lan Manager) is an authentication protocol developed by Microsoft. Read more at the NTLM page on Wikipedia.

(Does this page also apply to "Integrated Windows Authentication"?)

On the HTTrack Forum, Victor informed us (2004-02-20) that he had successfully used HTTrack with NTLM.

He had installed MS ISA server on his work intranet but HTTrack would not run because of the NTLM authentication. However he found the program "NTLM Authorization Proxy Server" (APS) and provided some instructions.

  1. Download the program code from http://www.geocities.com/rozmanov/ntlm/ (mirror at http://apserver.sourceforge.net/). Please note that the HTTrack Help site does not endorse this product nor guarantee that it will work for you.
  2. The code is written in Python so you have to also download Python language interpreter version from <http://www.python.org/>
  3. The APS page has very good explanation so please read
  4. In HTTrack you must configure the Proxy:
