Mirror with outside files

Problem

I want to mirror a web site but there are some files that are not mirrored because they are outside the domain (on a different web site address).

This is also known as mirroring files/pages outside of your project's scope.

Suggestions

Suggestion 1

If you just want to retrieve files that can be reached directly through links, just activate the "Near links" option.

In WinHTTrack this is found in Options > Links > Get non-HTML files related to a link

For command line: -n or --near

This should work, for example, if you have pages in the main site that have links to ZIP, PDF, or images on other sites.

Suggestion 2

If you need to mirror more files or pages than just "near links" there are two possible solutions:

• Maximum external depth - less control but easy
• Filters - more control but also more complicated
